How to Join Hammacher Schlemmer's Affiliate Network?
Is my site eligible to become a Hammacher Schlemmer Affiliate?
Hammacher Schlemmer works with all types of affiliates, from large commercial sites to individual web pages, and everything in between. Anyone may submit an application, and we review each and every potential affiliate before accepting him or her into our network. We do reserve the right to refuse a site if it contains objectionable material including pornography, explicit language or content, or support for violent groups.
What does it cost to join?
Qualified applicants are accepted into the program at no cost. It's free to join, but you must agree to abide by our Affiliate Terms & Conditions.
Can a web site based outside the United States be a Hammacher Schlemmer affiliate?
Yes. Hammacher Schlemmer has served customers in almost every country, and we welcome affiliate sites from around the world. Customers must buy from our site in U.S. dollars and assume responsibility for customs and duties. Hammacher.com accepts international credit cards.
I'm a web site designer. Can my web site be a Hammacher Schlemmer affiliate?
Yes. You can link to our site to sell products just as any other site would. You may not, however, place your web site's links on sites that you create for your clients. They must create their own accounts.
Can I link my site to Hammacher Schlemmer and to other online retailers at the same time?
We do not prohibit linking to multiple online retailers, although we believe that you can make more money if you limit the number of retailers you promote to your customers. We continue to enhance our program in order to provide the best services along with an extensive selection of high quality products.
Setting Up Links
How do I create links to Hammacher Schlemmer?
To create tracked links to Hammacher Schlemmer, just logon to your Commission Junction account and go to the "Get Links" area for access to our links.
Will you help me with my site?
Yes! We can provide recommendations on how to build a better online store and how to link to Hammacher.com, as well as suggestions for great products to feature on your site. We also send out a newsletter with helpful info, merchandising, and more. Be sure you have opted to receive emails from us once you're approved into the program. Can I use the Hammacher Schlemmer name and logo on my site?
Yes. Users want to know they are buying from a company they can trust. But please do not alter our logo in any way. You'll find a variety of logos at CJ and you can choose the one that's right for your site. You must be an approved affiliate to use our logo.
Paid Search Policies
No affiliate may bid on our name or any variation in their Paid Search campaigns. All major variations of Hammacher Schlemmer including "Hammacher" and "Schlemmer" must be set to negative match within your accounts. Direct linking is also prohibited. Can I include specific information about your products on my site, such as cover images and price?
Yes, but we ask that you do your best to keep the information current and updated. If you would like a special link created, please send us an email to partners@hammacher.com.
Can I change and update my links whenever I want?
Yes, you may change and update the links on your site at any time, based on season, what's hot in the news, or for any other reasons you wish.
Can I use your search engine?
Yes! In fact, our experience has shown that using our search engine is the easiest and most effective way to sell products from our affiliate sites. You can create custom links to target our search results pages by using the Advanced Option after clicking on "Get HTML" for our links at CJ.
Do I have to build my own online store?
We would prefer that you use a store you have already built; however, we can provide additional services if necessary. Please contact us at partners@hammacher.com if you are interested in having us develop a Virtual Storefront for you.
Tracking & Payment
How are orders tracked and credited to my site?
All affiliate links contain your site's unique ID so that every time a user arrives to us via your site, we know to give you credit when a purchase is made, either during that visit or within 30 days after the visit. Make sure that all links on your site are created using the appropriate area in CJ.
How much will I be paid?
You will receive 10% of sales resulting from qualifying orders. Commissions are based on the merchandise total and exclude shipping and handling charges and taxes.
When will I be paid?
You will be paid monthly. Commission Junction will send you a consolidated monthly payment for commissions earned through all of your merchant partners. You will receive Hammacher Schlemmer commissions once orders have been locked, which occurs up to 60 days after the order was placed. For example, if you earn $500 in commissions during November, you will receive a check for those orders in January.
How will I monitor my sales from day to day?
We offer password protected online reports that are updated daily. These reports tell you how many users saw and clicked through the links from your site, how many orders were placed, which products were purchased, how much your site has earned in commissions, and much more. You can use these reports to analyze your sales and increase your profits.
