Hammacher Schlemmer The HD Video Recording Monocular

New York, NY, June 12, 2014 - Continuing its 166-year history of offering the Best, the Only and the Unexpected, Hammacher Schlemmer introduces The HD Video Recording Monocular, a device that captures close-up 1080p videos of subjects in the distance.

The HD Video Recording Monocular has a coated BK-7 glass lens and roof prism that deliver sharp 8X optical magnification with a 100' field of view at 1,000 yards.

"The HD Video Recording Monocular allows users to view and record birds or landmarks in the distance at crystal-clear, high-definition resolution," Hammacher Schlemmer's General Manager Fred Berns.

Subjects can be seen through the device’s eyepiece or on a flip-out 2.4" TFT color display-a push of a button activates a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor that records video at 30 fps. Content is saved on a microSD card and can be downloaded to a computer or viewed on a TV.

The HD Video Recording Monocular has manual focus adjustment from -5 to +5 diopters, it also takes still pictures, and its rechargeable li-ion battery provides 60 minutes of recording time on a full charge-ideal for an afternoon spent sightseeing.

The HD Video Recording Monocular is available from Hammacher Schlemmer for $249.95. For more information about this product, please visit https://www.hammacher.com/84741, or contact Trish Hammond at (847) 581-8987 or via e-mail at pr@hammacher.com.
