Tested by the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute: The Best Tabletop Fan
New York, NY, April 1, 2010- Hammacher Schlemmer announces The Best Tabletop Fan a desktop fan that outperformed all other models during the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute's tests for air velocity, quietness, ease of use, and features.
"Since its inception in 1983, the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute has been committed to testing consumer products and determining which are the best," explained Tara-Ann Dugan, Product Research Manager for the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute.
Air velocity was measured using an anemometer, the same instrument trusted by weather stations. The Best Tabletop Fan produced 1,102 feet-per-minute winds, far superior to lesser models that mustered only 819 fpm.
Despite its superior velocity, The Best model proved to be highly efficient and quiet, as it generated only 0.8 dB for every foot-per-minute of air velocity, unlike lesser fans that produced up to 1.17 dB of noise
"The Best Tabletop Fan's" Fan's minimal noise level ensures it will not interfere with in-person or telephone conversations when used on a desktop or table," noted Ms. Dugan.
The Best model has three speeds, it oscillates 90º and tilts 60º for optimal air circulation, and it was the only model tested that had a remote control. The fan's 9 1/2"-diameter base ensures unobtrusive set up on a desktop and the removable grill enables you to easily clean the blades.
