THE ARRIVAL OF ZOLTAR.
New York, NY, October 30, 2006 - Just in time for the holidays, Hammacher Schlemmer unveils Zoltar, the classic animatronic fortune teller found in old-time arcades. The coin-operated Zoltar invokes the spirit of bygone boardwalk amusements where World Series pitch and bat games stood alongside Mills Mellon slot machines, and the cheers of patrons mingled with the smell of fresh popcorn and steamed hot dogs. Zoltar provides 16 different spoken fortunes and dispenses one of 23 different printed fortunes in the form of a paper card from its front cabinet. 2,000 fortune cards are included.
"With Zoltar from Hammacher Schlemmer, you get the look and feel of a vintage machine, absolutely brand-new," said Joe Jamrosz, Corporate Sales Manager for Hammacher Schlemmer.
Gorgeously detailed with a handlebar mustache and beard, a gold head wrap, gold shirt, paisley vest, and jewelry, Zoltar acknowledges your presence and beckons you to approach. Once a quarter is inserted (coins may be removed), Zoltar nods his head up and down as he sweeps his hand back and forth over the illuminated crystal ball conjuring up the fortune.
Standing at 6 1/2' tall, the solid wheeled cabinet of oak has gorgeous birch veneers, finished in gold-and black-painted trim and encased by three panes of tempered glass.
Zoltar retails for $8,999.95. Please note that special conditions and guarantee limitations apply to this product. For more information, please visit www.hammacher.com or call 1-800-227-3528 between 8 a.m. and midnight, Eastern Time.
