Classified as a Low Speed Vehicle (check your local laws)--vehicles that travel no faster than 25 mph--its electric AC motor operates with 4,000 watts of power provided from six lead-acid batteries, providing a safe, maximum speed of 25 mph for up to 60 miles before requiring a recharge. The car uses an automatic transmission and independent suspension for a smooth ride while the wide 71 1/4" wheelbase provides safe turning in all conditions. Four disc brakes provide confident stops. The body frame is durable steel and the front and rear fenders are injection molded plastic--door panels are open to the air. A steel roll cage spanning the passenger area secures a removable canvas rag top (provides partial coverage). The 11 1/2" H x 49 1/2" W x 19" D rear compartment can hold six bags of groceries or two sets of golf clubs. The car plugs into a standard wall outlet--no special circuits are required.
