This is the portrait of your DNA profile, allowing you to prove, once and for all, that your existence is truly unprecedented. A professional testing laboratory performs agarose gel electrophoresis (the same genetic fingerprinting technique used by forensic scientists) on a cotton swab that you simply touch to the inside of your cheek. The portrait is a larger reproduction of the DNA images used in crime labs; the size of the lines and their location on the painting represent a genetic sequence that's unique to your genome. The image is applied to an archival quality, 24" x 18" canvas using the Giclee method--a high-resolution ink-jet printing process favored for reproductions of fine art. A matte film is applied to the canvas and the art piece is placed under vacuum at 392° F, providing permanent protection from scratches, abrasion, and UV-damage. You will receive a kit with instructions for submitting your DNA sample and selecting the colors of the painting.
