The vacuum's brushes sweep dirt into its built-in vacuum on the first pass and automatically reverse their rotation when they sense rug fringe or cords. The cleaning head automatically adjusts to accommodate carpets and floors and two included Virtual Wall lighthouses project infrared beams that confine the vacuum to one room, direct it to another room when it is finished cleaning, and guide it back to the recharging base. The professional Roomba can be scheduled to automatically clean up to seven times per week or prompted to spot clean with the touch of a button.
