This is the half-gallon jug of pure Grade A maple syrup from the Collins Tree Farm and Sugarhouse in Brattleboro, Vermont. The 200-acre farm has been in the Collins family since 1936, harboring a sugar bush of 4,500 maples. The sap is sugared using an old-fashioned, wood-fired evaporator that imparts a more concentrated maple flavor than syrups processed with oil-fired evaporators. The Collins family selectively cuts its firewood from trees on property to keep the forest healthy and the syrup process entirely sustainable.
