Product Story

This is the ventilated wide-brimmed hat that provides sun protection while reducing heat build up. The hat‘s nylon mesh sides facilitate cooling venitalation and the solid, cotton twill top and a 2 1/2"-3" brim protect the head, face, and neck from sun exposure. The Cancer Council Australia (on a continent where skin cancer rates are amongst the highest on the planet) recommends wearing wide-brimmed hats to reduce the risks of injury from UV-exposure. An adjustable chin cord makes for a secure fit or easy hanging, the 1" band circumscribes the hat just above the brim, and the hat is lightweight and crushable for packing and storage. Made in the U.S. Khaki. If in between sizes, order the next size up.

The way the mesh breathes and allows air flow through is fabulous. The brim is wide enough to protect my face, and my head is protected wonderfully against bright sun.- LFD, Virginia

How To Determine Your Hat Size

To get the proper fit in a hat, we recommend that you measure your head to determine your proper hat size.

How to Measure Your Head
  • Use a good quality tape measure, such as those used for sewing, to achieve the most accurate measurement.
  • Wrap the measuring tape around your head. The tape should be placed where you want the hat to rest, usually 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch above the top of your ears. For the best-looking and most comfortable fit, the bottom of the tape should touch your eyebrows while positioned straight around your head. Don't pull the tape too snugly or your hat will fit that tightly.
  • Once you've positioned the tape exactly where you want it, measure to the nearest one-eighth inch, or three millimeters.
  • Measure your head a second and third time to ensure accuracy.
