This remote-control tarantula scurries across flat surfaces like an actual arachnid, moving forwards, backwards, and rotates 360°. It has a hairy exterior, similar to the urticating hairs that cover a tarantula's abdomen and serve as defense mechanisms against predators, and the spider's eight legs move independently and the eyes light up, allowing you to frighten unsuspecting arachnophobes day or night. Remote requires two AA batteries and tarantula requires two AAA batteries. Ages 6 and up. The manufacturer has confirmed that this item meets U.S. Federal toy safety standards for lead. 1" H x 6" L. (12 oz.)

This toy is a great exercise tool for our 3 lazy, old cats. Every time I get it out, they anxiously await the "attack spider". Its only problem is getting stuck in rug fringe. Can't use it on carpet, etc. But, hey, it's a toy. Not a serious tool. Use and enjoy it. Love the red glowing eyes!!

Not a bad little toy, but I didn't realize that instead of the legs moving the spider, there are two small wheels on the bottom that do so. This is why you can't use it on carpet or uneven surfaces.I did expect the legs to move more. They don't really much imitate a real spider, and they just sort of "wave" a little bit, and not all of them move the same amount. The remote control doesn't have much more than about a 3 or 4 foot range. Basically, the product delivered what it promised, but not a bit more.

Disappointed
By Outdoors Freak

I liked the idea of it, but not the actual toy. We have tile floors with very smooth grout lines, yet it still high centered on the joints and I had to pull it off. Very clumsy, slow moving, and not at all lifelike. I'm not sure "scurries" is the correct description.
Pretty slow tarantula!

I thought the movements would be much faster. Disappointed in the remote spiders motions/movements, for what I spent for it.

Awesome litttle guy!

I love this! Wish it had a greater distance for the control, but works well if you don't get too far from it.

Remote Controlled Tarantula-Good Choice
By Ladybug Granny

I purchased the remote controlled tarantula for my grandpets. Ramero, the Siamese cat, and Camden, the delightful dog were both fascinated with the gift. I was pleased at the life-like appearance of the toy. It made Christmas morning very entertaining for all in the home.
Too slow, doesn't move well

It has a hard time moving from floor to rug. it goes too slowly. and it's too large to be believable. too expensive for what it is.
Disappointing toy

The tarantula is so slow, it isn't fun. Not even my cats were interested in it and that is saying a lot from curious cats. You have to stand too close to it (3-4 ft range) for it to work so you can't surprise anybody. It just isn't worth the money.
