The unit's specially designed dual, counter-rotating agitator brushes spread carpet fibers and enable the powerful vacuum to remove pet hair and other stubborn detritus from low and high-pile carpets. Sensors redirect the unit when it encounters furniture, walls, or stairs, and its enhanced anti-tangle technology reverses the rotation of the brushes when it senses rug fringe. Two Virtual Walls project an infrared beam that inhibit the unit's movement into forbidden areas. Cleans up to four rooms per charge and automatically returns to its drive-on charger when its battery runs low. Includes two replacement filters and two replacement brushes. 3" H x 13" Diam. I have low pile area rug on bare wood floor. I use the virtual walls to keep "him" where I want him. I push the button and leave for work. I come home to a nice clean livingroom! Roomba happily parks himself back on the charger when done so is ready again before I even get home from work. My hardest job is REMEMBERING to dump the dirt out! I think I just talked a colleague into buying one:)

We love our robotic vacuum and feel that it does a better job than both a conventional vacuum and the central vac system that we installed in our house. We have stained concrete floors with a lot of area rugs and the unit switches from one to the other with ease. We have a dog that brings in small wood chips and other material from outside and the robotic vaccum picks it all up. The only minor downsides are that it is a small unit and needs to be emptied fairly frequently; and that in a large room, you need to recharge it. Of course, when it's almost out of power it goes and finds it dock and plugs itself in, so it's not a big deal. We love it!

We run this about twice a week and it has kept the dust down considerably. Love it. Wish my husband would let me run it everyday. The only thing that is a little bit annoying is that we have to move our dining room chairs out from the table every time so it can get under the table. I do wish that it would get the corners a little better. Other than that I love it.
