Snap Crackle Dud

Of five dogs and one cat, only one dog perked up his ears when the soft crackle (to humans) began wafting two feet in front of the unit. If I hadn't already thrown out the packaging because I thought Petsafe was a trustworthy brand, this would have been returned for a refund. Unless you thrive on low expectations, please don't bother with this product. The collars have a better chance at behavioral modification. Or just try bribery with chicken jerky.

According to the instructions, this product works over a period of about 2 weeks. It trains the dogs to associate the unpleasant sound with their bark. We have noticed that they are coming around to this. We have 5 barky dogs, and we are hoping that this will end the constant barking whenever something moves. Our most dedicated barker may need something more, but it sure works on the puppies. We travel a lot and I will be taking this along! We will probably buy another unit to place in the next room, as this only works to about 25 feet.

My dogs had gotten to the point where they were barking at every noise outside of the house! Both have high pitched yaps that echo in my high ceiling house! This was driving me crazy!! I now have this thing sitting near the entry way of my house and it is absolutely amazing! They still occasionally bark but, it only takes a minute for the machine to kick in and the yapping is controlled! YAY!!!
