Ceramic resists bacteria (commonly found on porous plastic surfaces) that cause acne on a pet's mouth and chin. The ceramic drinking fountain is dishwasher-safe, enabling simple, thorough cleaning. The fountain has an integrated pump that draws water from the basin to the top of the dome where it pools and cascades back into the 2 1/4" H reservoir. The falling stream attracts pets with the sound of trickling water and entices them to drink more often--a practice that can reduce the pet's risk of kidney disease and urinary tract infection. Problems with motor

My cats love this watering system. The biggest problem is the little motor. I've had to have it replaced 3 or more times. I wish that a motor could be sent instead of packing up the whole thing to send back when all that's needed is the motor. I do recommend this watering bowl inspite of the problems I've had.

LOUD PUMP

Darn! I was so excited about this founatain because I love Hammacher as a company and they have such great products. We were looking for a ceramic or stainless fountain for our cat and finally found the "it" fountain. However, Samson laughed when he heard the loud noise coming from the pump that drowned out the pleasant noise it was supposed to make for the fountain. After the 3rd night night of NOISE from the ABNOXIOUS (and cheap) pump, we finally unplugged it and popped a bottle of Champagne and went to sleep. This product is going back and we'll continue our search for a quality fountain.

I love this fountain. It is super easy to clean. There aren't any nooks and crannies you can't reach when cleaning. My cats use it more than my dogs and they love it. I'd recommend this over the traditional fountains any day. It's so simple to assemble and no fuss maintenance. Wish I wouldn't have bothered with any other fountains before finding this one. Must say I see NO CONS whatsoever. We love it!
Mostly satified with the product

For the most part I am satisfied with this product. My cat drinks more water. Wish they would make a smaller bowl.I feel the bowl is too big for 1-2 cats. I have bubbles that appear after 4-5 days, and the water looks dirty, so I clean it out twice a week. I thought the filters would clean it better so I would not have to empty the water twice a week. But it looks appealing, and not too heavy to lift.

Best Pet Water Bowl I've Had

I've owned several 'pet fountains' in the past. This is the best by far. It's heavy, pet can't move it. It's quiet, no motor sound or water fall sound. Cats love the moving water on top, but one will only drink from the still water in the lower bowl. Another 'con' have to add water every day as the cats are drinking a lot more water now! They love it, and me too. It's the easist to clean of any I've owned.

This is the best, simple pet fountain that I have found. It is so simple, easy and fast to clean and reassemble. It seems heavy, but it is durable and strong. I love it and so do the cat and dogs! I wish I would have discovered it earlier.
