This is the lightsaber wall sconce that changes color and issues the famous Jedi weapon's classic humming sounds from Star Wars. Modeled after Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from the original movie, the sconce mounts to wall for easy hanging using the integrated bracket. Pushing its activation switch brings the blade to life as it issues its iconic start-up sound, settling into its familiar idle. The included remote control changes the blade to one of eight vibrant colors--powered by a multi-colored LED--including a "spectrum" mode that cycles through all colors automatically. The sconce must be initially assembled from five pieces molded to resemble a lightsaber's components--a skill required of all Padawans before becoming a full Jedi Knight. Shuts off automatically after 15 minutes to conserve battery life. Requires five AAA batteries. Ages 6 and up. 26 3/4" L x 3 1/4" W x 2 3/4" D. (12 oz.)

Very Disappointed!

I purchased four to give as gifts for Christmas. The video shows great graphics and sound, but...I was so disappointed when I opened the box. They were much smaller than shown and the lights and sound were weak.

Cheap Plastic

This was a cheap plastic toy at best. When you open the box it was totally apparent that this device was not at all what was envisioned. I gave it to a young lady who was too polite to give it back so I could return it, but it was clear that she too was disappointed. The parts are made of cheap modeling type components and it takes a model master to construct the saber. It is too bad that the components were not made of something better than gray plastic because for just a little more it could have been made of something sturdy that looked semi-real. This does not look like a true lightsaber or the photo provided at all.

This device powers down after 15 mins which is great for power saver...However you have to manually click the device to activate instead of the color changing remote...i.e...if your child is in bed for the night and it powers down, you have to get back out of bed to reactivate instead of the remote.

Took some real 'Jedi' skills to assemble

I would have probably went 4 stars if I did not recieve a defective unit. It was actually missing parts in the battery unit. Rather than taking the time to return it, I used my Jedi electrical skills to fashion a connection out of the connections from an old weather station receiver. Created a connection and it was alive. Cute idea. Sound effects nice touch. Kids around 6-8 probably would really like putting this together. We have it in our home theater on our "star wars wall" I just wish it could be left on continuously...it automatically shuts off after 15 minutes. Also, you have to turn it on at the device and then use the remote. The remote is not able to turn it on --only change the colors and turn it off. Would be great if it did as a child's night light.

A little smaller than expected- but overall- no complaints and LOTS of compliments! Buy two- they look great flankiing our media center in the mancave! I have recommended it to all the Star Wars fans in my life (there are many!), and will most likely be getting some for Christmas gifts.

Easy to hang on the wall. Automatically shifts from color to color. This is an item that is meant for children; however, the remote doesn't seem very durable. Children are more likely to accidently drop the remote and that did happen to ours. It would be great if you could detach it for the wall mount and make sounds when you moved it, like the larger version.
