This ultrasonic device trains dogs to walk without tugging their owner. The device attaches between the leash and collar (neither included) and when the dog tugs, the integrated speaker emits a harmless ultrasonic tone that canines find irritating yet is inaudible to humans. The ultrasonic tone becomes louder the more often the dog tugs. The dog associates the unpleasant sound with pulling on the leash, thereby learning to walk properly. The tone is directed into the leashed pet so as to not disturb other pets and the four volume levels can be adjusted manually to accommodate dogs with different levels of sensitivity. The device can be removed from the leash and used as a handheld device to teach dogs to sit, stay, and heel. Compatible with any leash and suitable for all dog breeds and sizes. Solved our problem

This product is designed to curb a dog's habit to pull on a leash. I used it to stop our doodle from jumping on people she meets in our home or on the street. WARNING - read the instructions inside the package and please be a Cesar Milan when using this product. Only use it to discourage a bad dog habit "when they are actually doing or just getting into doing what you don't want them to do". I am not a animal behaviourist but if there were many problems to correct in my dog, I would cure one problem at a time with this device. How did I use it? Before I used the device I actually planned exactly when and how I would use it so that it would be used under conditions that our dog and we are used to. Then, when people arrive at our house I let our dog run towards them happily as she does to greet them - it's not the happiness I want her to stop - it's the jumping. I instructed my guests to ignore her. As soon as she motionned to jump on them by lifting her front legs and shoulders to jump - I pressed the + sign on the device but only to the FIRST level and brought it back to 0 as soon as my dog motionned to come back down. How did my dog react: slightly startled at first - but not with her tail between her legs. Once she returned on all fours she walked back to me and then back to the guest. If she motionned to jump again, off went the ultrasound and back to 0 when she motionned to come back down. I have used the device 4-5 times on 3 different people, two children and 1 adult, and it worked INSTANTLY. The first 2 times I used it, she did go back to each one at least twice and tried to jump again (she's been doing this for 5 years - so let's give the poor girl a chance...), but I used the device as described above, and back down she came instantly.I expect I may have to use it once or twice more with my "category 5 guests" - that is the people she really goes CRAZY for when she sees them. But I believe I will then put it away for a long long time. Is the money worth it since it works so fast and you may never need it again? After 5 years of trying Cesar's way and putting her in another room when people arrive at my house - you bet. So rather than spending $500 or more for a school that might not work - I am completely satisfied with my purchase.Note again, that I only encourage mature dog owners to use this to correct a specific problem. Because this ultrasound does work, it should not be in the wrong hands at which point it could cause more harm and confusion to your dog.Cheers,H.

I have only used it a short time, but my dog only has to see the device to sit and listen more closely.My only concern is how loud it really is in her ears.

My brother-in-law picked it up at the shipping outlet and tried to put it together. He should never try manual labour. It was very easy, when I got to Moms, to put together. However they lost the tiny screw that holds the battery cover in place. I used the command trainer on Mom's dog and found it quite effective. Once the dog comes to my home I know it will get used more often. This dog just has too much energy. We are still trying to find a replacement screw but in the mean time I have duct taped that cover in place. C-A
