This is the guitar with a unique resonator chamber that produces sounds 3X louder than an acoustic guitar without the need of an electronic amplifier. Only available at Hammacher Schlemmer, this model has an inverted 10 1/2" diameter aluminum cone inside its 3 3/4" deep body with a cast-aluminum "spider" supporting its maple bridge, features first invented by John Dopyera in 1928. The single resonator's rich, metallic tone has become synonymous with the works of iconic blues musicians such as Taj Mahal, Derek Trucks, and Johnny Winter. Crafted by Regal, supplier of bodies for Dopyera's original resonator designs between the late 1920s and 1941, its body is made from solid mahogany with a traditional sunburst finish. Its round neck and rosewood fingerboard makes it easy to play while its round screen sound holes, nickel-plated fan cover, and tail piece provide authentic detail. Includes 42" L x 17" W case.
