Micro cut shredder

It's quiet and powerful as advertised. There is one drawback, however. A DVD sometimes causes the shredder to "choke." The on switched must be toggled on and off several times before the DVD is completely shredded. I learned a trick. Hold down the plate that contains the slot while the DVD is being fed through the slot. That enables the DVD to pass through in one pass. A shredded DVD looks like silver dust, and shredded paper looks like micro pieces of the original, as advertised.

The Best is the Best

Use of product: Home use for work papers and personal papers of a confidential or proprietary nature that need to be securely destroyed. Great things: The speed of the machine and the volume of paper it can handle at once is a real plus. Understandably when the you have micro cut, the machine is slower than with cross-cut. So, if micro-cut is what you want, this machine does a great job. Also, it is convenient that this machine can crush staples so you do not have to undo the staple before processing the document.Not so great: There is a button on the back of the machine that needs to be turned on to use the machine. That was not highlighted in the instructions so initially I could not turn on the machine. So, the instructions could be improved.

Highest security of a shredder

I bought this take care of tax and sensitive documents for my home office. It performed remarkably well for the amount of paper I had to shred. The great this is it accepts staples and is super quiet. What I didn't like was the unpacking of the shredder because it was so heavy. I had to lift it up and out of the box while bending over - not great for my back. I would recommend this shredder to anyone.

OK for small jobs

The shredder frequently displays that the bin is full when in fact it is not and it automatically shuts down. Turning it on / off restarts the shredding function. Not a good device for big continuous shredding jobs.

I use primarily as a home office shredder. It is not only good at micro-shredding many pages at once, it is also easy to dispose of the shreddings (with or without shredder bags). The shredder basket easily slides out, and the blades are all steel--no plastic blades! With some common sense, like not overloading the unit and making sure to take breaks, should help the unit last a very long time.

Works Great

Way better than the Office Depot unit I bought a few years back. Cuts the paper even smaller than my old unit and does it with such ease. It is quite large which would be my only complaint, but at the same time it has a large bin so I do not have to empty it as much.
