A pre-filter captures large particulates like pet hair, and a three-stage charcoal filter removes impurities responsible for unpleasant tastes and odors in water, maintaining its freshness. The fountain is made from UV-resistant plastic for outdoor or indoor use, a fill-line indicator allows you to easily determine when to add more water, and the basin and reservoirs are dishwasher safe. I bought this waterer for my 3 dogs and 5 cats. I have a sheppard mix and two pitbull mixes. They were all scared of the loud battery sounds. None of them would drink from this fountain. Had to return it.

We are very pleased with this product. It keeps the water fresh, and the circulating pump provides a little enticement for the dogs.

Easy to put together, easy to clean and less maintenance. Filters hair and debris much better that my last watering device. I'm very happy with this thing.
