The Pet Bowl Circumventing Robotic Vacuum.

This is the Roomba specially designed to clean carpets and floors while circumventing the pets' food and water bowls. Exclusively from Hammacher Schlemmer, Roomba comes with a virtual barrier that sets up near pet bowls and creates a 20"-diameter circle through which Roomba will not pass, preventing the robotic vacuum from bumping and spilling water and pet food. Made by iRobot, developers of tactical reconnaissance robots for the U.S. military, Roomba has dual, counter-rotating brushes that reach deep into carpet fibers and quickly remove pet hair and dander. Roomba analyzes the dimensions of a room, determines the optimal cleaning path, and navigates autonomously to clean the floor. Integrated sensors detect areas of high dirt concentration, prompting Roomba to spend more time cleaning these locations. The cleaning head automatically adjusts to accommodate carpets or hard floors and dual air filters ensure only clean air is recycled. It can be scheduled to automatically clean up to seven times per week or prompted to spot clean. Virtual barrier requires two C batteries. 13 1/2" Diam. x 3 3/4" H. (8 lbs.)

Love my new Roomba

My previous Rombas were all series 400. This 660 is quieter, picks up more fur and dirt. It is definitely a step up. The run time is long enough to clean 4-5 rooms. I have used the programmer a couple of times just to test it, but usually I am home so I can start it whenever I want. With 2 dogs and 2 cats, running my Roomba every day or two is a must. Fur always gets wrapped around the rotating side brush and the yellow brush bearings. Both are easy to clean and well worth the effort. I hope this one lasts longer than the 400 series robots. None of them lasted the full one year on the warranty. Thank goodness I bought this at Hammacher Schlemmer. Their lifetime guarangee is priceless. Now I just have to come up with a good name for my new housekeepper.
