This full-sized, five-string banjo and instructional DVD provide an easy way for budding banjoists to learn the three-finger playing style made famous by bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs. Grammy-nominated Pete “Dr. Banjo” Wernick guides you step-by-step through tuning, using the included thumb and finger picks, as well as folk classics such as Tom Dooley and She’ll Be Comin’ Around The Mountain. This 263/8-scale banjo features a traditional 11" composite rim with a bolt-on mahogany resonator to enhance tone and volume. The slim maple neck adjusts with a truss rod, and its bound rosewood fingerboard’s 22 smooth nickel-silver frets allows for smooth transitions between chords. With an ebony-topped maple bridge, its five light-gauge strings and open-gear machine heads (geared 5th string tuner) provide easy playing and precise tuning. Includes two finger picks, thumb pick, pitch pipe, adjustable nylon banjo strap, and a carrying bag. Ages 13 and up. 37" L x 13" Diam. x 3 1/4" D. (5 lbs.)
