This is the wristwatch inspired by the vintage designs of timepieces worn in the trenches of World War I. Wristwatches were still a rarity in the early 20th Century, and fumbling for a traditional pocket watch while on the attack proved impractical, so pocket watches eventually ended up on the wrist. This watch mimics prominent features of those early watches with a pocket watch’s larger crown, which can be manipulated by gloved hands on a cold night’s watch, and light grey illuminated numbers on its black face that replicate the high-visibility thick, white numbers on earlier watches. While the 3/4"-wide canvas strap is typical of watches from this era, it is backed by comfortable Nubuck leather. Accurate Miyota quartz movement provides reliable time-keeping. The face is protected by a scratch-resistant mineral crystal, and the 1 3/4"-diam. splash-resistant, ion-plated stainless steel case protects its inner workings.
