Unlike common reading glasses with one fixed magnification, this pair lets you adjust the focus of each lens with the simple turn of a dial. Using patented fluid-injection technology developed by a physicist at Oxford, the lenses comprise an elastic membrane held between rigid polycarbonate plates. As the dial on either side of the frame is turned, the elastic membrane bows inwards or outwards, subtly changing the magnification from -4.5 diopters to +3.5 diopters. Users can adjust each lens independently, and if their vision changes they can simply give the side dials another twist. The flexible nose pads ensure a comfortable fit, and the side knobs can be twisted off to lock in the magnification permanently. Not intended as a replacement for prescription glasses. Black or Brown Tortoiseshell. 1 1/2" H x 7" W. (2 1/2 oz.)

adjustable glasses what a great idea.
amazingly quick delivery/charged no customs fees. This will bridge me over until vision is stable for reading glasses.Or keep as a spare pair in emergency or if eyesight is changing due to age or sickness.Quickly adjusted with the twist of 2 fingers for each eye.Can go from far vision to reading vision by twisting without the need of a change of glasses .Definitely cheaper than bifocals.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good for long reading hours.
The Adjustable Focus Reading Glasses
from Houston Texas
These glasses were never adjusted or used because they were too narrow for my face. All I would see was frames on either side. They must be designed for very small people with small heads and close set eyes.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Requires continuous focusing with slightest change in subject distance.

I bought these glasses for reading music that is written very small. I play in three bands as a trumpet player. The dixie band has copies of old music that is hard to see at times so that is the group that required the reading glasses. So far have not had a rehearsal with that band and loaned my music to another player so have not fully evaluated the glasses yet. We will get together on This Thursday so am hoping to get a good read on them at that time. I have used them with another band and they seem to get the job done.
smaller than expected

I have not taken these out of the package yet because the lenses are much smaller than I had expected. How can I return them for a refund?

In principal, the adjustment and focus change works, however the mechanism to adjust is flimsy and the frames are of minimal durabilty.
Not very useful but interesting

Especially useful for reading tv captions at distance. The lack of lens curvature reduces the usefulness of glasses but as a way to read text at a distance, glasses are helpful. For those who use cheap magnifying glasses to read, the product affords both close and far vision assistance. The product has little practical use for persons who are traveling, shopping or driving as the wearer's head should remain stationary to use this product.

About Me Casual Dresser
Needs a clip on accessary set of rings to add on perscription lenses for astigmatism. Otherwise its a great product. My astigmatism is bad enough that i am going to have to continue using my regular glasses with a clip on magnifyer. I plan on giving this product to a friend or relative who doesn't have that problem after they try them out.
