Designed to the same specifications as the originals, the knee-length duffle is made from double-sided wool hand-stitched together—not glued like inferior replicas— and has the traditional adjustable hood that closes around the neck and face for optimal warmth. The duffle coats were so effective at keeping sailors warm while allowing freedom of movement they became standard issue for the Royal Flying Corps and British Army by WWII.
