This is the robot that allows one to remotely monitor one’s home via an iPhone or iPad from anywhere in the world. Available only from Hammacher Schlemmer, the robot’s high-definition 1080p camera transmits a live video and audio feed via WiFi to your preferred iOS device using an existing home internet connection. The mobile robot’s 4" diameter wheels allow it to conquer any carpet or floor lip up to 1/2" thick and easily mount and dismount its charging station. An app receives the live feed and can be used to direct the robot to move forward, backward, turn corners, and tilt its camera up 23° or down 25°. Included microphone and speaker enables two-way communication with kids or pets when away. Can also record 720p-resolution video to one’s device for later playback. Its rechargeable battery provides up to five hours of operation or nine hours in standby mode from an eight-hour charge using the included charging stand and USB cable, which plugs into a computer.
