Handcrafted in Poggi Berni, Italy, this is the classic globe that opens at its equator to reveal storage compartments for liquor bottles and stemware. Designed after the globes crafted during the Italian Renaissance, it is masterfully crafted by the artisans of the Zoffoli family, famous since 1949 for their high-quality globes and detailed, period cartography. When adventurers are tired of circumnavigating the day’s obstacles, the hidden compartment of this model is attuned to the explorer’s evening activities. When the northern hemisphere is opened, its southern counterpart rotates 360º, allowing ease of access to up to four bottles and 12 glasses. While the globe sits atop a chesnut base, its interior and exterior are covered with hand-laid paper—the interior depicts mythological figures representing the constellations while the exterior depicts maps reminiscent of those from the 15th century.
