Product Story

This is the flat-brimmed touring cap stitched in traditional Scottish tartans. Hand-tailored by Hanna Hats, renowned maker of fine garments for three generations, the cap is sewn from breathable virgin wool. The cap’s low profile prevents it from brushing against the roof of a car, its sloping peak shields the face from rain and sun, and its snug fit protects the cap from flying off during top-down touring. Comfortable for year-round wear, the cap is available in two classic tartans that pay homage to Scottish clans: The Red “Royal Stewart” plaid is the tartan of Britain’s current monarchs, while the Green or “Black Watch” tartan was worn by soldiers patrolling the Highlands in the 1740s. Sizes M-XL. (4 1/2 oz.)

How To Determine Your Hat Size

To get the proper fit in a hat, we recommend that you measure your head to determine your proper hat size.

How to Measure Your Head
  • Use a good quality tape measure, such as those used for sewing, to achieve the most accurate measurement.
  • Wrap the measuring tape around your head. The tape should be placed where you want the hat to rest, usually 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch above the top of your ears. For the best-looking and most comfortable fit, the bottom of the tape should touch your eyebrows while positioned straight around your head. Don't pull the tape too snugly or your hat will fit that tightly.
  • Once you've positioned the tape exactly where you want it, measure to the nearest one-eighth inch, or three millimeters.
  • Measure your head a second and third time to ensure accuracy.
