This is the winner of a Red Dot Design Award that transforms from a chiminea to a grill and built-in preparation/carving table. Cast from heat-resistant, powder-coated aluminum, the grill‘s upper and lower body are hinged together such that the upper half serves as a convenient side table for preparation or carving station when using the included hardwood tabletop insert. Three recessed concave circles in the insert’s outer edge accommodate small bowls of basting sauce or a chef’s preferred beverage. The top’s taper provides stable contact with the ground while the bottom’s three hardwood legs keep the 19 1/2"-diam. grill level. The barbecue serves as a chiminea when the top is placed over the bottom—both top and bottom have two wooden handles for easy placement—and the generous opening affords a pleasant view of a fire within.
