Handcrafted in the ancient bazaar of Khan el Khalili in Cairo, this is the sterling silver cartouche pendant that features five ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics symbolizing protection, rebirth, health, life, and happiness. Once worn by ancient pharaohs, cartouche pendants often displayed the royal name of the wearer and were oval in shape, believed to protect the kings and queens from evil spirits. This pendant displays the Eye of Horus, a symbol of protection, the lotus flower, the symbol of creation and rebirth, and the middle of the pendant contains the Ankh, Flame, and Cloth symbols that represent happiness, life, and health.
