The mechanism is sensitive enough to allow finches, chickadees, and other lightweight songbirds to feed without spinning, and the feeders tube is ideally suited towards these types of birds, reducing the chance that larger birds such as crows will try to bully their way to feed. Typical tube feeders have four to six ports, but this unit has 12 seed ports, and requires no assembly. Easy to clean, and requires three D batteries.
