This set of three heated stair treads keeps snow and ice from accumulating on outdoor steps without the need for shoveling or use of salt or chemicals. Made of durable EPDM rubber with a ribbed, perforated surface that provides traction and allows melt-water to drain away, the treads are tested to melt snow and ice as low as -5 F and provide heat up to 50 higher than the ambient temperature, so it can melt up to 2" of snow per hour. The treads connect using waterproof electric cords (up to ten treads can be connected at once) and terminate into a standard AC outlet using an in-line ground fault circuit interrupter with 6' cord that ensures safe operation. Four 5/16" diam. holes (one in each corner) allow you to permanently attach treads t o masonry, wood, or steel using appropriate hardware (not included) as desired.
