Product Story

This is the trampoline that allows two opponents to play Spaceball, a game invented in the early 1960s by trampoline pioneer George Nissen. It has been hailed as "the best conditioning exercise for space travel" by Scott Carpenter, one of NASA's original Mercury Seven astronauts. The game requires hand-eye coordination, balance, timing, and trickery to throw a ball past your opponent through a tunneled, netted gantry to the other side--all while bouncing up and down. It only takes up 14' of space like normal trampolines, yet it has two near-vertical trampoline sides at either end. Players can time their jumps by using either the horizontal or vertical trampoline surfaces, thereby minimizing the angle of their shots, maximizing their chances to score points. The trampoline's galvanized steel frame resists corrosion, and its sturdy playing surface is made of polypropylene treated for UV resistance; the padded borders are made of EPE foam. It also includes netting that surrounds the entire playing area. Supports two players of up to 200 lbs. each (400 lbs. maximum). 14' L x 8 1/2' W x 10 1/2' H. (406 lbs.)
