This is the grilling plank made from solid Himalayan salt. Extracted from Khewra, the second largest salt mine in the world, this 12" L x 8" W x 1 1/2" H plank subtly imparts flavor to grilled meats whether used before grilling or directly searing on the plank itself. The salt from this mine contains additional trace minerals absent in typical table salt (which also accounts for its pinkish hue) adding flavor complexity to beef, poultry, pork, fish, and vegetables. With a melting point just under 1,500° F, the salt plank must be heated slowly—an increase of no more than 200° F per 15 minutes—on a gas or charcoal grill on the included 12 1/2" L x 8 1/2" W porcelain-coated steel, handled plate.
