This is the three-wheeled dune buggy that coasts over firm sand, pavement, or grass, powered only by the wind. The buggy is propelled by a 13' sq. parafoil composed of 16 ripstop nylon cells which self-inflate as wind passes through them, forming a semi-rigid airfoil that behaves like an airplane's wing. Extending 65' into the sky, the parafoil's lines are high-modulus polyethylene - the strongest thermoplastic made - attached to a handheld control bar, enabling operation in winds as low as 8 mph and as high as 20 mph. Easy to learn in as little as 30 minutes, a simultaneous pull and punch in either direction of the two-handed control bar steers the foil - foot steering on the buggy's front wheel maintains line tension for consistent coasting. A release of the control bar lowers the parafoil for confident stops. The buggy's stainless steel frame includes a 19 3/4" wide padded seat that raises riders 8 1/2" off the ground.
