This indoor surveillance camera pans 270º and tilts 120º, providing a wider field-of-view than fixed cameras in tests conducted by the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute. Judged easiest to set up, its camera position is controlled remotely from a simple keypad on the wireless monitor. This unit also had the longest broadcast range, sending crystal-clear images and audio to the handheld remote 600' away, 200' further than lesser systems. Its digitally encrypted, 2.4GHz wireless signal operates on four channels to minimize interference. The remote's 2.5" color LCD has 480 x 234 resolution, and infrared LEDs in the camera allow black and white nighttime observation up to 16' from the camera lens. The 2X digital zoom button on the remote focuses in on subjects, and the image can be flipped 180º--ideal when the camera is mounted upside down. The monitor includes an AV cable for connecting to a television, a flip-out stand, and earphones. Included AC adapters power the camera and monitor (or four AAA batteries, not included).
