This is the ventilated vest modeled after the C-1 survival vest issued to U.S. Army Air Force airmen during World War II. Updated for modern use, it has a 100% polyester meshed back that dissipates heat during long travel days afield and a buckled cinch straps that provide a custom fit. Eliminating the need for extra hip- or backpacks, while faithfully reproducing details of the original, it has two side entry pockets, four side-entry snap pockets, two buttoned chest pockets, and a right-hand snap lapel pocket. Originally designed to accommodate a variety of survival gear, such as a first aid kit or a box of .45 caliber rounds, the pockets meet the needs of today's traveler, holding a cell phone, GPS receiver, map, guide book, or passport.
