These are the gloves reminiscent of the original A-9A Winter Flying Gauntlets worn by USAAF gunners during World War II. Provided to the U.S. Army between 1942 and 1944, the A-9A was issued to crew members charged with defending bombers, such as the iconic B-17, from attacking fighter aircraft.
