This is the limited-edition replica that commemorates the rarest and finest Morgan Dollar mechanical "error coins". Minted in 2 Troy oz. of 99.9% silver, it faithfully reproduces the original 1887 double-struck error coin. Designed by U.S. Mint engraver George T. This replica displays a unique doubling of the intended image on both sides due to a mechanical malfunction during the production process. It has a 39mm diameter, satin burnished finish, and is protected in a clear acrylic holder with a black display case. Includes a serial-numbered certificate of authenticity signed by famed numismatic collector Fred Weinberg (owner of the original 1887 Double Struck Error Morgan Silver Dollar).Limited edition; 499 maximum mintage.
