This is the autographed baseball bat hand signed by MLB Hall of Famer Ted Williams, regarded by many as “The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived”. Williams was a 19-time All-Star, two-time American League Most Valuable Player, six-time American League batting champion, and was the last player to bat over .400 in 1941. Williams credited his hitting prowess in part to the superior quality of his bats and was fanatically particular about the ones he swung. He was even known to pick out the specific piece of wood at the Hillerich & Bradsby factory from which his Louisville Sluggers would be made. This genuine Ted Williams baseball bat—signed with a blue Sharpie—is meticulously crafted to the same specifications as the ones the “Splendid Splinter” wielded to terrorize opposing pitchers. It's made from ash wood harvested in New York or Pennsylvania, measures exactly 35" long, and weighs 33-34 ounces. The bat and signature come with a certificate of authenticity from the renowned authenticator Beckett and from Green Diamond Authenticated, the company that Ted Williams created to ensure collectors were receiving his authentic signature. Each bat is assigned an alphanumeric certification number as well as a tamper resistant #9 hologram label. The bat comes shipped in a protective cloth sleeve and includes a Boston Red Sox display case of 1/8"-thick acrylic framed in black finished wood with a laser applied Red Sox team logo. Measures approximately 7 1/2" H x 40" W x 4" D. (10 lbs.)
