Product Story

This is the pocketknife that uses a handle hand-carved in Germany from decommissioned beer barrels, evoking the country’s time-honored brewing tradition. It is made by Böker in Solingen, Germany’s renowned cutlery center where strict laws were enacted for the manufacture of knives and shears. Using an early 1900s Böker pattern, the knife’s four C-75 carbon steel blades—one pen, two sheepsfoot, and one coping—are secured within two handcarved wooden beer barrel sections with three nickel silver bolsters and brass liners. Unhinging smoothly from a slip joint construction for convenient whittling or utility duty, the blades can stay half-opened without the slightest side-to-side movement—a mark of unparalleled quality not often seen in knives today. Closed 3 3/4" L x 1/2" Diam. (2 3/4 oz.)
