These are the self-balancing skates that combine the functionality of traditional roller skates with the operation of a hoverboard. Built-in gyro sensors and accelerometers detect the slightest pressure of the rider’s feet, enabling one to accelerate forward or backward with a simple lean; standing straight brings the skates to a steady stop. Each skate has a 250-watt motor that propels a rider up to 7 1/2 mph while textured footplates provide a secure non-slip footing.
