Requiring only one phone jack, this system allows you to place up to eight cordless handsets throughout your home, and up to four of the handsets may be used simultaneously. The handsets operate up to 150 feet from the base station, which plugs into a standard phone jack and supports up to two lines. Engineered by Siemens, the system's 2.4 GHz frequency and high-speed digital voice encoding provide reception that is superior to other cordless technologies, letting users enjoy conversations that are virtually free from interference. More secure than other cordless phones, the system employs frequency hopping spread spectrum technology for an extremely high degree of privacy and protection from eavesdropping. A large, backlit LCD panel on the handset shows caller ID* and caller ID call waiting* information (both name and number). Calls may be conferenced or transferred between handsets. The intercom and paging functions operate between handsets, and the system allows users to make internal and external calls simultaneously. It can also be used as a room monitor, triggering an intercom call to a stored number when a pre-specified sound level reaches the handset's microphone. Lightweight handsets accommodate up to 120 directory entries each; the entire system holds up to 120 call log entries. Handsets provide up to 4 hours of talk time.
