Product Story

Created only for Hammacher Schlemmer, this is the classic golf cap that uses evaporation to keep your head up to 20º F cooler than outside air temperature. It is the only cap that provides cooling in both the crown and brim. Crafted by a supplier of cooling apparel to professional cycling teams, Olympic athletes, and the military, the hat is charged by submerging in cold water for at least two minutes, then wringing out the excess. The golf cap’s patented fabric inner liner retains the cool water where it vaporizes over five hours, drawing heat away from your head. Made with 100% cotton, the hat also features a ribbed back for a secure fit. Hand wash, air dry. Imported. Khaki. Sizes M (hat size 7-7 1/8; head circumference 22 1/4"), L (7 1/4-7 3/8; 23 1/4"), or XL (7 1/2-7 5/8; 24"). (12 oz.)

How To Determine Your Hat Size

To get the proper fit in a hat, we recommend that you measure your head to determine your proper hat size.

How to Measure Your Head
  • Use a good quality tape measure, such as those used for sewing, to achieve the most accurate measurement.
  • Wrap the measuring tape around your head. The tape should be placed where you want the hat to rest, usually 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch above the top of your ears. For the best-looking and most comfortable fit, the bottom of the tape should touch your eyebrows while positioned straight around your head. Don't pull the tape too snugly or your hat will fit that tightly.
  • Once you've positioned the tape exactly where you want it, measure to the nearest one-eighth inch, or three millimeters.
  • Measure your head a second and third time to ensure accuracy.
