Product Story

Made in England, this is the walking stick with a cleverly hidden flask in the shaft and a handle shaped into a putter's head. Defying early 19th-century social mores which frowned upon the consumption of alcohol and the playing of golf on Sundays, the stick allowed gentlemen to retain a veneer of respectability while sneaking a drink or surreptitiously practicing a putt. The handle unscrews from the shaft to reveal a concealed phial that holds 1 3/4 oz. of a preferred libation--just enough to wet one's whistle during a passage read by the pastor. The stick is made of beechwood, lacquered to a high-gloss finish that will not chip or crack after years of outings. The handle's putter shape also fits a hand for a confident grip while disguising its real purpose. 38" H. (1 lb.)
