Designed and manufactured in Finland, this is Kubb, the traditional lawn game that originated in Scandinavia and continues to gain popularity in the U.S. Although sometimes known as Viking chess, Kubb shares more in common with the European lawn bowling game “skittles”. Two teams or individuals face off on a rectangular court with the object being to knock over the opposition's Kubb skittles via a thrown baton. Only then can they take aim at the King skittle in the center to claim victory. Kubb courts can be created quickly and easily on grass, sand, dirt, or snow, making it ideal for year-round play.
