Product Story

Available only from Hammacher Schlemmer, this is the genuine Stetson hat. Founded in 1865, the John B. Stetson Company designed hats to accommodate the needs of the American west by crafting models that withstood weather, kept the head cool, and conveyed a special symbol of status. Made in the U.S. from a wool and buffalo fur felt, this modern version provides the same benefits of its 150-year old predecessor and features a classic cattleman crease and a decorative 1/4" leather hat band. A 4"-wide curved brim provides 360° of protection from the sun and helps keep the face, neck, and shoulders dry in the rain. The interior is fully-lined with satin and has a leather sweatband. Tan. Sizes M (7-7 1/8), L (7 1/4-7 3/8), XL (7 1/2-7 5/8).

How To Determine Your Hat Size

To get the proper fit in a hat, we recommend that you measure your head to determine your proper hat size.

How to Measure Your Head
  • Use a good quality tape measure, such as those used for sewing, to achieve the most accurate measurement.
  • Wrap the measuring tape around your head. The tape should be placed where you want the hat to rest, usually 1/8-inch to 1/2-inch above the top of your ears. For the best-looking and most comfortable fit, the bottom of the tape should touch your eyebrows while positioned straight around your head. Don't pull the tape too snugly or your hat will fit that tightly.
  • Once you've positioned the tape exactly where you want it, measure to the nearest one-eighth inch, or three millimeters.
  • Measure your head a second and third time to ensure accuracy.
