The Giant Fifth Avenue Nutcracker

This is the near life-size nutcracker guardsman reminiscent of the sentries that stand watch over store windows along Manhattan's famed shopping district. Made from solid New Zealand pine, the 5' tall Nussnacke comes smartly decorated with 34 acrylic gemstones lining his tunic and a large faux jewel and a gold chain adorning his tall black-brimmed hat. He is resplendent in a handpainted uniform of military red jacket, forest green trousers, and spit-shined black boots, all trimmed in metallic gold paint. A high-gloss finish resists chipping and fading, ensuring this soldier will pass muster for years. His painted mustache is contrasted by soft fabric hair and beard. Standing ramrod straight, his steely gaze fixed straight ahead and his trusty rifle at his side, he lends an air of holiday pomp and circumstance to a foyer, hallway or fireplace.
