The Gourmand's Salamander Broiler

Similar to the salamanders preferred by executive chefs, this countertop broiler has six quartz heaters--two on the top, middle, and bottom--that, when used together, produce powerful radiant heat for cooking a 10" pizza or putting the finishing touches on a steak. You can turn on only the top or bottom heaters with a touch of a button to brown a potato gratin or toast a baguette. Two metal racks accommodate up to 12 pieces of bread or two 14" x 10" baking dishes, and the racks slide out of the unit to ensure safe removal of foodstuffs. The integrated timer (up to 15 minutes) controls the middle heating elements.
