The Packable Roof Rack

Made by the same company that supplies inflatable rafts to many of the World's armies, this inflatable roof rack protects the roof of any vehicle and cushions the load it transports and deflates to store in the corner of a trunk. Made to fit all standard 2- and 4-door vehicles, the rack can carry up to an 180 pound load and has passed all countries' stringent safety tests for regular metal roof racks. The rack consists of twin tubes for the front and rear, each with five, tie down points. The tubes quickly inflate with a 1000cc high volume, double-action air pump (included). To secure the rack to the roof, tube ends have webbing straps that pass through the opened car doors, connect and cinch close with metal clamps. The rack is constructed of reinforced PVC, laminated with a dense weave nylon. Both tubes house a high-elasticity inner tube. All stitching is completely re-inforced. Tie down fittings have been load tested to 3,000 pounds. When not in use, deflated rack stores in its own polyester black carrying case Folded down measurements are 6"H x 15"L x 6"D. The rack is meant for temporary transport only and should not be left on vehicle when not in use.
