The beloved blue No. 1 engine was created as a sickbed story for the son of author Wilbert Awdry, who himself inherited his love of trains from his own father. This inscribed version of the book passes the tradition to a new generation of rail buffs. The text can be inscribed with a child’s name on the cover and on the header of each page, thrilling young readers as they track the escapades of Thomas and his friends on the Island of Sodor. The hardback features the original color illustrations and comes in a gift box.
