Product Story

These are the iconic pralines from Mazet de Montargis crafted with a recipe created for the court of Louis XIII in 1636. Whole almonds are grilled and coated in caramelized sugar for toothsome crunch with sweet notes of vanilla. The distinctive floral patterns and scrolling baroque elements on the lid harken to the candy’s origins as a favored treat of French royalty. From a confectioner’s shop in a medieval French town that has become virtually synonymous with pralines since 1903. May be enjoyed straight out of the keepsake tin with an espresso, or lightly crushed and sprinkled over a meringue dessert. Imported. 9 oz. tin.
